April Projects with Kelly Purkey Shop

This month's Kelly Purkey Shop release just went live which means I have a couple of new projects to share with you! This month's release included the Hometown Love main kit and the Grow TN kit, as well as some fun additional stamps. You can view the entire release here.

I filled out a couple of gaps in my 2017 Project Life album making two pocket page spreads with the kits and stamps from this month.

For my first project, I went back to Week 48. It was a pretty normal week where we went to our usual places around home so I thought it would be perfect for using the Hometown Love kit.

There's a new stamp in the shop called Cake Shop designed by Life Love Paper and it's super fun to play with and make little buildings! I used it to make a little bakery 3x4 card to accompany the photo of my daughter at one of the bakeries we frequent.

I loved the 4x6 map card from the kit and knew I had to use that in my spread. I adhered some lovely camel-colored letter stickers along one of the map lines to spell out our city, and then layered some stamps and labels to bring in some additional color.

I also used some of the papers and stamps from the TN kit called Homebody. The hand-drawn furniture seemed to fit in well with this week's theme!

Another must-have stamp from this release is Journal Lines. There are several journal blocks to choose from, as well as several arrows. I used two different journal stamps as both a layering tag and a journal spot, and I used one of the arrow patterns throughout the cards in the spread, which I thought was a fun way to tie the spread together.

For my second project, I documented part of Week 16 from 2017. This was a week in Spring where we visited some flower fields, worked in our own garden, and had some flower photos from some hiking we had done -- all perfect with the Grow kit!

Even though this is a TN kit, the cards totally work in a pocket page spread. I cut down the card with the "Spring" repeated words, turned it on its side, and used that as a background for my photo.

The stamp set contains some buildable elements, which I used to create the potted plant, combining it with a couple other stamps and making a 3x4 card with it.

Kelly talks about repeating design elements in her own spreads and I tried to do exactly that by layering the letter stickers with the days of the week paper, and repeating this trio on three of the photos. I agree with her that it helps the cohesion!

I printed my journaling on vellum for this week and adhered it onto the pretty yellow flower paper, so I could use more of the pattern, instead of just cutting off a strip or two.

Thanks for checking out my projects and I hope I could provide a little inspiration. :)

P.S. Here's a look at some of the "in progress" scenes I stamped with the Cake Shop stamp.

SO cute, right??
