I have a young daughter who loves crafts and is continually fascinated by my scrapbooks and all the stuff used for making them. Recently, she’s been asking me to help with them and if she can do one of her own. So cute!
I remembered that the wonderfully creative Krystal Iduñate had made an advent calendar to help her daughter work on her own December Daily album last year and I knew I wanted to do the same for my little girl this December.
For the base of the album, I used one of the new 4″ x 6″ minibooks from Everyday Explorers Co. The Story Start journal is a great size with heavy paper that will withstand my daughter’s heaving coloring. 🙂 Since my daughter is only 5 and just barely reading, the project needs to be kept reasonable for her. I created some pre-made pages in the album using stamps from Everyday Explorers Co, Paper Person Shop, and Studio Calico. Each day has a loose “theme” with a small mini day tag (stamped from the Mini Calendar Days stamp) and matching embellishments.
Here’s a look at a few sample pages.
Day 3 – includes a prompt to draw or write out a holiday wish list (stamps are from Holiday Prompts and the Explorers Alpha) and embellishments from my stash
Day 7 – a prompt to write out a holiday playlist with some fun embellishments for decorating it (stamps are from Holiday Prompts and Now Playing)
Day 10 – a page to color and decorate some Christmas trees using sequins and stickers (stamps are from Christmas Tags and Holiday Prompts)
Day 13 – a decorated page to draw or write about some everyday activities (stamps are from Christmas Tags, Christmas Post (digital), Good Stuff Inside)
Day 16 – a day to write about things you’re grateful for! (stamps from this month’s Practice Gratitude mini kit and So Much Gratitude)
For the actual calendar bags, I made these out of plain kraft paper. They are roughly 4″ wide by 5″ tall and I only made them because I couldn’t find similar bags at my local craft store! The front has the number stamped with the solid Alberta stamp (Paper Person Shop) in black with December stamped and embossed in white from the Month By Month stamp (Everyday Explorers Co).
I LOVE how this turned out and I hope my little girl does too! I can’t wait for us to work on our albums together in December!!

How Nigeria’s biggest city became the world’s hottest winter party destination
casino bonus
It’s a world of endless parties and sleepless nights. A relentless celebration that turns West Africa – and especially Nigeria’s largest city, Lagos – into one of the hottest destinations on the continent, if not the planet, right in the middle of winter.
Detty December is a magical time between December and early January when diaspora communities and tourists flock to Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa for an unforgettable experience filled with flavourful food, soulful African music and sunshine.
Beach parties, festivals and top-tier performances fuel the energy, while fashion takes center stage, with everyone dressing to impress.
Nearly two-thirds of Nigeria’s population is under 25, according to the United Nations Population Fund, making this one of the world’s youngest countries.
Internationally renowned Afrobeats performers and foreign artists make surprise appearances. DJs take to the streets, blasting powerful beats from consoles mounted atop bright yellow minibuses.
At times it’s all-consuming. Good luck getting hair salon appointments, affordable air tickets or navigating Lagos’ already notorious traffic when the party crowds are in town.
Detty December (“detty” is a playful corruption of “dirty”) is a triumphant celebration of culture, music and good vibes that has evolved in recent years during the traditional holidays influx of diaspora returnees, which heightened in 2018 when Ghana ran a launched a successful “Year of Return” campaign actively encouraging people to visit their ancestral homelands.
It’s gathered pace over the past five years, gaining an international reputation, as IJGBs (“I Just Got Backs”) and their friends arrive in batches, eager to unwind and blow off steam after the fast-paced, hard-working year they’ve had overseas.
For many in the vast Nigerian diaspora, it is a deeply personal homecoming, a chance to reconnect with their heritage, traditions and families while immersing themselves in the lively energy of Nigerian life.
